(at head of title) Department of the Interior, U.S. Geographical and Geological Survey of the Rocky Mountain region, J.W. Powell in charge. (on upper margin) To accompany report on the Lands of the Arid Region of the U.S. | Report on the Lands of the Arid Region of the United States, with a More Detailed Account of the Lands of Utah. With Maps. By J.W. Powell. Second edition. Washington: Government Printing Office. 1879. | 3 excellent colored large maps, particularly the one of Utah. Also two small maps that are integrated into the report. The Utah map combines information from all four surveys. 1st edition was 1878. See Stegner, Beyond the Hundredth Meridian pp. 219-240, for a discussion of the Report. Bound in cloth covered boards with title on spine.
