The New York 1939 Official World's Fair Pictorial Map Created by Tony Sarg. | The New York 1939 Official World's Fair Pictorial Map Created by Tony Sarg. | Tony Sarg, AKA Anthony Frederick Sarg was an illustrator and a renown puppeteer. One claim to fame was his animation of 20 films, including the 1921 film, "The First Circus". He was an early designer of animal balloons (up to 125 feet long) for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, illustrated children's books, and did animated store window displays. His cumulative audience of 3 million at the 1933 Chicago World Fair was the pinnacle of his outstanding marionette theater productions. Once weathy, he died bankrupt in 1942.
